Equation Editor Support for Windows

Instructions to Remove Browser Control Manually

General

In case the previously installed Browser Control doesn't work or out-of-date, you need to manually remove it and reinstall the new one. Or, if you accidentally installed Browser Control for Netscape 6.x and above, you should remove it to make sure that the Equation Editor works correctly.

In general, in order to remove the WebEQ Browser Control, search for the file "WebEQApplet.jar" in your hard drive and delete it.

For Internet Explorer, besides the deletion of "WebEQApplet.jar", you'll need to do some extra cleanup as follows:

Find the Windows directory. For example, WINNT in Windows 2000 / Windows NT, Windows in Windows 98.

Go to the following directory

%WINDIR%\Downloaded Program Files

and remove "WebEQ Browser Controls" if it appears there.

Go to the following directory

%WINDIR%\Java\lib (or TrustLib)

and delete the "webeq", "webeq3" and "org" directories there, if they exist there.
