Instructions to Install and Remove Browser Control Manually
 
General
 
Automatic installation of Browser Control is not available on Mac. Users need to download the archive file and place it into the correct location manually.

 

Known Limitations
 
Once Browser Control has been installed , every time the page accesses the WebEQ applet it might display "Warning Security" message. This message is just for users to know that the applet is  running  locally. This can be solved by clicking the "Always" button. Once the "Always" button has been pressed, the message will not get displayed again.

 


Mac OS Classics (8.6 - 9.x)
 
  1) Click on the link WebEQApplet.jar to download a copy of the archive file. If you are using Netscape, you might need to hold down the Option key on your keyboard while clicking on the link.

2) Some browsers will ask you where you want to save WebEQApplet.jar and others will place it by default, on the Desktop. If asked, you should save it on your Desktop.

3) After WebEQApplet.jar has finished downloading, it will applear with an icon on your Desktop. Do not double-click on the icon or you may accidentally expand it.

4) Quit your browser and all other running programs.

5) Drag the WebEQApplet.jar file to the following folder:

\System Folder\ Extensions\MRJ Libraries\MRJClasses\
6) Finally, once the archive file is in place, you will need to restart your browser.

If you want to remove the Broswer Control, just go to the above folder and drag the WebEQApplet.jar file to the Trash can. Click the Trash can, then select Special on the menu, click "Empty Trash...". It is very important to empty trash as the final step otherwise the browser will attempt to use the WebEQApplet.jar file in the Trash can.

 


Mac OS X 10.2
 
  1) Click on the link WebEQApplet.jar to download a copy of the archive file.
